Learn About the FDA's

Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

The FSMA is shifting the FDA's focus from reaction to prevention, after the realization that foodborne illness is both a big public health issue and also an economic liability.

As a result, the FDA has finalized seven major rules. These rules help to ensure food supply safety is a shared responsibility within the global supply chain for both human and animal food.
