Her idea of self-care is eating string cheese in peace while waiting for a vet call. If you think you’re busy, she’s already milked 60 head, signed a field trip permission slip, and fixed a broken gate — and it’s not even 10 a.m.

The Farm Runs on Her (and Caffeine)
The cows report to her. So do the kids, the calendar, and the guy dropping off seed who’s “just gonna swing by around 4:00.” She’s up before the sun and somehow still keeps track of ration changes, vet visits, and who’s out of clean socks. She doesn’t do drama, but she does do PTO meetings, bulk tank repairs, and chili for 40 — all in one day.

If she had a dollar for every time someone asked “Do you really do all that yourself?”…well, she’d probably just invest it in automated herd monitoring tech and a new hydraulic gate.

The Truth Behind the Humor

Women are a driving force in dairy, making up over 36% of farm leadership and labor. Across Wisconsin and beyond, women are managing operations, making financial decisions, and shaping the future of agriculture in visible and meaningful ways. Representation matters, especially for the next generation. When young girls can see themselves not just supporting farms but leading them, it strengthens the entire industry.
