Her trusty sidekick? A scrappy rescue dog who also serves as head of farm security, chief snuggler, and self-appointed chore supervisor.

The Farm Runs on Her (and Chore-Core)
She’s up before sunrise — not because she loves mornings, but because cows don’t snooze.

One AirPod in, hoodie half-zipped, she’s bedding stalls while checking the herd app and wondering where she left her coffee (again). She rolls with the mess, shrugs off the stress, and just keeps moving.

The cows don’t wait — and neither does she. Unbothered by setbacks, unstoppable when it matters most.

The Truth Behind the Humor

The next generation of farmers is stepping into an industry that looks very different from the one before it. Gen Z brings new perspectives on technology, sustainability, and communication, along with a strong willingness to adapt. Meet the Real Farmer Who Was Born to Dairy

Sarah Hagenow grew up immersed in the dairy community, where her passion for agriculture first took root. Now, as the 78th Alice in Dairyland, she brings energy and advocacy to Wisconsin agriculture across the state. Dairy runs deep in her family—her sister Ashley served as the 76th Alice in Dairyland, and her dad, Bob, is known as the “Lineage Loving Cow Historian” outside of his tenure at Vita Plus and World Dairy Expo. A true family legacy in dairy!

Always for the cows, always for the family — with her rescue dog right by her side.
